Volunteer opportunities

 

The Michigan Chapter of SAS is currently forming its infrastructure which means help is needed in all areas. Listed below are the State Committees. If you are interested in volunteering on any of these on the state level please contact the State Coordinator. We need people to work on these committees, so we hope you can volunteer time for at least one . Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

 
 

Local /Regional Coordinators-

These volunteers would be responsible for assisting the State Coordinator in
keeping their area of the State active by having members man booths and events for their area. Please contact June Fellows for a complete list of responsibilities if you are interested in becoming a Regional/Local Coordinator for your area of the State.
 
 
SAS Membership:
This committee is responsible for promoting

membership, overseeing membership problems, and

keeping the archives of online and snail mail

membership.

 

SAS Programs:

This committee would be responsible for coming up

with new ideas for programs and presenting them to the

board. For assisting in planning programs at either

the national or state level. Putting together the

information and making sure the material needed by

the state coordinators is available for them to go forward

with this program, and putting together the guidelines

for the programs.

 

SAS Fundraising:

This committee would be responsible for obtaining

bids on fundraising materials for state and national

events, for coming up with new items to use as

fund-raisers, and investigating whether or not items

requested by the state coordinator are obtainable.

Those items would also need to be available all year

round. The committee would also be responsible for

planning fundraising projects on the state level.

 

SAS Events:

This committee would be responsible for the planning

and overseeing of events on the state level, to be

able to organize and help publicize, to come up with

event guidelines, handle problems, and improving

events. It would also oversee transportation such

as coordinating buses, obtaining special fares,

discounts, and blocks of rooms. Committee members

would also be available for special requests of

people putting on events (i.e. sending fax, making

telephone calls, etc.)

 

SAS Marketing:

This committee is responsible for coming up with ideas on how to best advertise the Second Amendment Sisters, how to make the public aware of our mission, and to help promote our membership. It would also be responsible for "product development."
 

SAS Communications/Research:

This committee is responsible for writing the

letters needed by the state committees, state coordinators and

other committees, for press releases, newsletters,

brochures, logos, business cards, graphics, anything

printed. It would also be responsible to provide

material for speakers and project leaders, and forthe

state coordinator to disseminate to members for

reference. This committee will also be responsible

to keep SAS up to date on pending and new gun law

issues.
